WHEN EVERY HOUR COUNTS
A hurricane, an earthquake, or a flood can change the lives of thousands of people in a matter of minutes. While many are still trying to understand what has happened, RescueNet is already getting to work. Our goal: to be on the scene as quickly as possible to provide medical assistance.
The hurricane destroyed everything. Your home has collapsed. You’ve found shelter in a church. Desperately, you wait for the rain to stop. You hope to find your family. And that help will arrive soon. Because the first few days after a disaster are a matter of life and death.
After a disaster, RescueNet distributes relief supplies such as water filters and provides medical assistance.
This was the situation in Jamaica in October 2025. Just a few hours later, we were already making preparations: a team was assembled, flights were arranged, and supplies were packed. Because that is our goal at RescueNet: to be on the ground as quickly as possible after disasters to provide medical and psychological first aid, rescue people, and give children a sense of structure through play programs. In short: to share God’s love through practical help.
RescueNet consists of an international team of volunteers, ranging from doctors and nurses to teachers and missionaries. They are stationed in various locations around the world and set out immediately in an emergency. They cover the costs of their missions themselves.
Pastoral counseling, prayer, and practical assistance are all part of RescueNet's ministry.
To enable us to provide even more effective assistance in the future, RescueNet is scheduled to undergo verification by the WHO in October 2026 (as an “Emergency Medical Team Type 1 Mobile,” the official category for our medical team. This verification will grant RescueNet international recognition and facilitate our response to disasters.). Once verified, RescueNet will be a recognized medical team that can be deployed worldwide in the wake of natural disasters. This is an important seal of approval for our work, one that can open crucial doors more quickly and easily for us to provide medical aid.
To be ready by October, we’re investing in equipment, standardizing our procedures, and training our team. We still need CHF 40,000 to make this happen.
